A New 28 Years Later Trailer Brings New Zombie Secrets

It’s the end of the world as they know it … and keep knowing it … and then maybe it ends again? The new trailer for Danny Boyle and Alex Garland’s 28 Years Later gives us a little more of a look at the seemingly idyllic small village in which some folks are riding out the zombie apocalypse. There’s still little dialogue here, but context clues suggest that Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s character is heading out to hunt with his son, who seems a little young to be leaving the safety of the town. Based on what appears to happen, age seems like less of a concern than, you know, the ravening hordes outside.

Also, there’s a zombie preacher whose flock probably isn’t going to listen to him. And a whole lot of guys with guns.

28 Years Later comes a mere 23 years after 28 Days Later, the iconic fast-moving-zombies film starring Cillian Murphy (who, sadly, will not be in this one after all). Superfans can follow the clues buried in this trailer, as ScreenRant did; they lead to a promotional website full of mysterious hints, including surveillance on the Lindisfarne Commune and a countdown clock tracking the time until the movie’s release.

28 Years Later is written by Alex Garland and directed by Danny Boyle; along with Taylor-Johnson, it stars Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), Erin Kellyman (Solo), and Jack O’Connell (Ferrari). The zombies race into theaters on June 20th. icon-paragraph-end
