High school can be murder! Especially if you’re in a slasher movie. David Arquette is no stranger to this genre given his involvement in the Scream franchise (pictured above), and it looks like he’s back to the space with the upcoming film Kill or Be Killed, where he’s joined the call sheet along with Alisha Newton (Heartless).
Deadline first reported the casting news and the existence of the film, which comes from a script by Nick Zigler, who has previously worked on the Chucky and Purge television shows. David Straiton (Narcos) is directing.
Here’s the premise of Kill or Be Killed, per Deadline:
The movie is set to film this summer, and the production company, Other Animal Entertainment, is working with the company Architect to distribute it globally.
“Kill or Be Killed captures the magic that made the golden era of slashers so iconic,” Ryan Keller, producer at Other Animal, said in a statement. “It brings a fresh, pulse-pounding experience that resonates with today’s audiences while honoring the genre’s storied past. The viral nature of the killer’s game speaks to audiences worldwide, while the primal struggle for survival resonates in any language.”
No news yet on when the film may slash its way into a theater near you.
