Robert F. Kennedy Jr. asked NFL player Aaron Rodgers in a trailer for an upcoming Netflix documentary series if he’s considered politics.
“Have you thought about going into politics?” Kennedy asks Rodgers in a clip in the trailer for “Aaron Rodgers: Enigma,” set to come out in mid-December in three parts, according to the trailer.
Kennedy, President-elect Trump’s pick to head the Department of Health and Human Services, is friends with Rodgers, and they share a history of vaccine skepticism.
Rodgers has said that Kennedy, also a former independent presidential candidate in the 2024 race, floated the idea of him as his running mate. In response, the New York Jets quarterback said he was surprised by the proposal.
“My thing is, [Donald Trump] had four years to do it and didn’t drain the swamp,” Rodgers told conservative commentator Tucker Carlson in an interview from May. “And whether he just got scared because of what he learned when he was in there — I think it’s very plausible.”
“But that’s why I was interested when Bobby came to me and said, ‘Would you think about being my running mate?’ And I said, ‘Are you serious? I’m a f‑‑‑ing football player.’ But I love this country, and I’d love to be a part of bringing it back to what she used to be.”
Netflix describes Rodgers’s upcoming series as a “sports series chronicling the defining moments of his life and career.”
