Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) was spotted sipping wine with Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-N.Y.), and Democratic donors at a Paris event that Maloney’s opponent highlighted during the midterm elections.
Punchbowl News reported that Schiff and Maloney went on a European tour last week to raise funds for Democrats living abroad. Shane Goldmacher, New York Times reporter, tweeted Sunday a screenshot of one of the invitations to a fundraising event in Paris for the DCCC on Oct. 1.
Goldmacher also tweeted an invitation to a DCCC fundraising event in Geneva, Switzerland on October 3.
Goldmacher’s tweets were responded to by Mike Lawler, Republican New York Assemblyman’s chief of staff, tweeting a video. He wrote, “Here’s even a video of Schiff and him on a Paris balcony sipping wine and eating Hors d’oeuvres.”
Lawler later deleted the video and his campaign political director shared it.
Lawler tweeted Sunday morning, “While @spmaloney was scouring the globe to raise money for @SpeakerPelosi’s re-election socialists, I’ve been speaking directly with voters in the district every single day since May.” “No one should be shocked if Sean loses on Nov. 8th.”
Lawler then followed up with a still of Maloney speaking at this event. This was also retweeted and liked by the campaign.
It is said that the DCCC’s fundraising event overseas as part of its efforts to “Stop MAGA Republicans at Home” in a statement on Sunday. Taylor stated that Chairman Maloney was on a 10-city, 10-day fundraising swing to raise millions of dollars for candidates who would help stop MAGA Republicans from passing a national abortion ban.
