The First Teaser for Danny and Michael Philippou’s Bring Her Back Is All Creepy Vibes

First and most importantly, the cat is fine. The first teaser for Bring Her Back, Danny and Michael Philippou’s follow-up to Talk to Me, begins with a cat, who seems a bit distressed at the sounds coming from elsewhere in its house. And then everything, for about sixty seconds, is vague and distressing.

There’s very little dialogue; mostly, ominous phrases appear and fade from the screen. According to The Wrap, the official synopsis for the film is just a single line: “A brother and sister uncover a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother.” Said foster mother is played by Sally Hawkins (Paddington 2, The Shape of Water); the siblings are played by Billy Barratt and Sora Wong; and the rest of the cast includes Jonah Wren Phillips, Sally-Anne Upton, Stephen Phillips, and Mischa Heywood.

Bring Her Back is directed by the Philippou brothers and written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman, who also collaborated with the brothers on Talk to Me and the in-the-works sequel, Talk 2 Me. Along with that sequel, the brothers are reportedly developing “a documentary project inspired by their own journey into the world of international underground deathmatch wrestling.”

Bring Her Back is in theaters this summer, though the teaser doesn’t give an exact date. icon-paragraph-end
