Codependency becomes actualized in the trailer for Together, a horror film from Neon that sees Dave Franco and Alison Brie’s characters literally become stuck together after they move to the woods. (Note to self: Never move to the woods.)
Here’s the official synopsis:
Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie (Franco and Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country, abandoning all that is familiar with their lives except each other. With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh.
Flesh! That includes eyelashes in the trailer and presumably other body parts in the full film. How much body horror plays into the story is unclear, but odds are good that it’s more than a little bit. The movie, which was screened at Sundance, currently boasts a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, so it’s likely worth the watch if you’re a horror fan and/or want to delve into the complexities of codependency in a metaphorically graphic way.
Together comes from writer-director Michael Shanks, who is making his feature debut here. The movie premieres in theaters on July 30, 2025.
