Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), former President Trump’s running mate, will speak Wednesday afternoon from a shipping and warehousing company in Erie, Pa.
This will be Vance’s first visit as the Republican vice presidential nominee to the city on the Keystone State’s northwest shore. But with a large and politically divided population, the commonwealth as a whole is receiving substantial, ongoing attention from both campaigns.
The campaign stop also comes as Trump and his Democratic rival Vice President Harris are neck and neck in the battleground state. The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate polling index currently has the vice president in the lead with 48.2 percent support compared to Trump’s 47.1 percent.
Vance is scheduled to appear in Erie at 3 p.m. EDT.
